Privacy policy
Renewbird reminds you before documents and subscriptions you depend on expire. That takes very little information, and this policy explains exactly what, why and for how long.
Who we are
Renewbird is operated by Renewbird by Owais Builds (“we”). Contact: kowais915@gmail.com.
What we collect
| What | Why | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | To sign you in with a one-time code and to send your reminder emails | Yes |
| Your documents: name, type, whose it is, expiry date, reminder times, notes | To show your list and send reminders at the right time | Yes, what you choose to add |
| Photos and PDFs you attach (Plus) | So you and your household have a copy at hand | No |
| Household membership: who is in your household and their email addresses | So everyone in it sees the same documents and reminders | Only if you share |
| Time zone | To send reminders on the right day where you are | Yes, set automatically |
| Purchase status from Google Play, via RevenueCat | To know whether your household has Plus | Only if you subscribe |
| Crash reports and diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version, error details) | To find and fix bugs | Automatic |
We don’t collect document numbers, your location, your contacts, or advertising identifiers, and Renewbird has no ads.
Photos you take in the app are re-encoded on your phone before upload, which removes hidden metadata such as GPS position.
How we use it
Only to run Renewbird: sign you in, store and show your documents, schedule notifications on your phone, send reminder emails, keep households in sync, process your subscription, and fix problems. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising, and we don’t use your documents to train AI models.
Who can see your data
- You and the people in your household. Everyone in a household can see and edit its documents and files. That is the point of a household; leave or remove someone at any time.
- Service providers that run parts of Renewbird for us, under contracts that limit them to that job:
- Clerk (sign-in and one-time codes)
- Neon (database, US East)
- Vercel (website, API and private file storage, US East)
- Resend (reminder emails)
- RevenueCat and Google Play (subscriptions)
- Sentry (crash and error reports)
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
Files are private
Attachments are stored in private storage. They can only be opened through links that we create for members of your household, and each link expires within two hours.
How long we keep it
- Your account and documents: until you delete them or your account.
- Deleted documents and files: removed immediately; backups roll over within 7 days.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
- Records of which reminder emails were sent: as long as the document exists.
Your choices and rights
- Turn off email reminders in Settings, or notifications in your phone’s settings.
- Export all your documents as a spreadsheet: Settings → Export. Always free.
- Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or as described on our account deletion page.
- Access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing us. We reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you have these rights by law; we give them to everyone.
Shared households and deletion
If you share a household and delete your account, the household’s documents stay with the other members (they are the family’s records), and your email is removed from the household. If you are the only member, the household and all its documents and files are deleted with your account.
Children
Renewbird is for adults. It isn’t directed at children under 18 and we don’t knowingly collect their data. A parent can track a child’s passport expiry date as part of their own household; the child doesn’t have an account.
Security
Everything is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Sign-in uses one-time codes, so there are no passwords to leak. Access to production systems is limited to the operator.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
